Trip to Thailand

Amanda and I left Michigan on Tuesday November 15, headed for Thailand.  We had a layover from Detroit into Narita, Japan. While in the airport we were able to text a few people and play some iPhone games, kind of fun to communicate halfway around the world. We met up with Benz (he was an exchange student in our town last year) once we landed in Bangkok, about 11:00 PM Thailand.  Benz and his driver "But", pronounced almost like "buut", drove us to all our locations, he was very great to have getting us in and around all of Bangkok and Pattaya.  Benz treated us like royalty while we were visiting, he showed us all around town, we met his Uncle and Aunt as well as his favorite niece, she was about 5 or 6 years old, cute and happy to take a photo with us.  Here is a photo of us and Benz

We were saddened at seeing some of the flooded areas of Bangkok, and how much devistation has happened to the people here.  Benz and his family even though they have taken on some flooding have been very helpful to the Thai people that have been impacted by one of the worst flooding in their history. Benz took us to the King's Palace, we rode in all sorts of taxi's and rode the sky train and subway, we also went to the mall and ate at Benz's favorite Japanese restaurant.

We enjoyed all the sights in Bangkok and then headed to Pattaya a heavily touristed area for Thailand.  Benz said 60% of the population was tourists, this is great for Thailand and brings in revenue. During our stay in Pattaya, Amanda got sick and is still coughing up a storm, however she was still able to participant in some of the fun and enjoyable moments we spent with Benz.  We had a great time and will cherish the memories like this one here at a floating market in Pattaya, where we had breakfast.  This little kitty looks like our Cody cat and he has found a new toy to play with.
We are now resting in Changsha, China and will post more on Monday after we take photos of Tabetha Hope.

God Bless,

Brian and Amanda
